Research on Reciprocal Learning in Teacher Education and School Education in a Global View
Thank you for travelling near and far to Toronto, Canada. “Reciprocal Learning in Teacher Education and School Education between Canada and China” is a 7-year partnership grant project funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) (Xu & Connelly, 2013-2020) and by in-kind partner contributions. This 4th Conference and AGM took place in the context of Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE) 2017 in addition to international conferences such as American Educational Research Association (AERA), Comparative and International Education Society (CIES). We gather together to share knowledge and experiences and build bridges to deepen our cross-cultural connections. There were 31 Reciprocal Learning Partnership Grant sessions at the CSSE meetings with posters, individual sessions and symposia from research team members, graduate students, sister school teachers & sister school principals and superintendents. The Sister Schools & Teacher Education Reciprocal Learning Program teams met during the conference, gave Chinese-Canadian co-taught lessons, conducted a student and parent teleconference with China and co-planned 2017-2018 joint reciprocal learning curricular activities. Please see more details in our upcoming news reports on our PG CSSE Sessions, and the sister school activities. Hope you had a wonderful time in Toronto! See you at Northeast Normal University in Changchun, China in 2018!
